When I first started my food miniature journey, I was only familiar with resin clay. Lately, though, more and more people are using Polymer Clay for food miniatures. Sometimes when I join local markets, customers ask me what materials I use, and many of them assume that my products are made from Polymer Clay.

For most of my creations, I use GRACE air-dry clay from Japan and AMOS iClay® from Korea. These materials help ensure that each accessory is both durable and beautiful. I absolutely love GRACE clay. It’s semi-transparent and can be mixed with acrylic paints. It’s very soft and has excellent flexibility, which allows me to create many detailed items. However, its downside is that it dries quite quickly, so I often have to wrap it in plastic wrap to keep it moist, and I have to rush to complete my designs. Once finished, I usually wait 2-3 days for it to fully dry, and the finished product can last for a long time. I’ve tried other brands from China and Taiwan, but my favorite is still the GRACE Resin Clay from Japan.

Though so many people talk about Polymer Clay, I’m eager to give it a try myself. I’ve already bought the materials and will experiment with them when I have some free time. I’ll share my experience with Polymer Clay in a future post!
